Dermal fillers & facial balancing

A considered approach to facial volume, definition and proportion. At Soprano in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, we begin with your features as a whole—and the changes that matter to you.

The Soprano approach

Your features, in harmony.

Dermal fillers are injectable gels used to add volume or adjust selected facial contours. Hyaluronic acid fillers may be considered for areas such as the cheeks, lips or chin, but a concern does not automatically call for an injection.

We look at facial movement, underlying support, skin quality and previous treatment before discussing a plan. The aim is to make thoughtful choices that respect your proportions. Sometimes a smaller change, a different approach or no treatment is the most appropriate recommendation.

Understand your options

Consider the concern.
Then consider the care.

Information to support a conversation. The right choice depends on assessment, your priorities and what treatment can realistically offer.

01

Volume & support

Changes in the cheeks and mid-face can affect the way neighbouring areas look. Assessment considers these relationships rather than treating every line in isolation.

02

Shape & definition

Selected changes to the chin or jawline may help facial balance. Filler adds volume; it cannot remove excess skin or replace surgery.

03

Skin & surface changes

Fine texture, pigmentation and skin quality need a different assessment from volume loss. Skincare, skin treatments or laser and light-based care may be relevant.

Dr Shad explains his approach to temple rejuvenation during an appointment at Soprano. A consultation considers the wider face, the available options and the risks before any treatment is agreed.

Before you decide

A plan shaped
around you.

From the first conversation to aftercare, knowing what to expect is part of good care.

01

Treatment planning

Your consultation considers medical history, previous procedures, the area and the proposed product.

02

Recovery

Swelling, tenderness and bruising can occur. Allow time for the area to settle and follow your clinician’s aftercare advice.

03

Maintenance

Results are temporary. Duration varies with the product, area, amount used and individual factors; review is more useful than a fixed promise.

Clear information

Treatment & fees.

These guide fees reflect Soprano’s published price list. Your clinician confirms suitability, the proposed treatment and the full cost before you make a decision.

A consultation may lead to advice, a different approach or no treatment. A listed price does not mean a procedure is suitable for you.

An informed choice

Benefits, limitations
and the things to know.

Fillers can cause bruising, swelling, tenderness, infection, asymmetry, lumps or delayed reactions. Rarely, filler can obstruct a blood vessel, causing tissue damage or loss of vision. No injection technique removes these risks. We discuss the risks for the specific area, alternatives and what to do if a problem occurs before you decide.

Follow the personalised aftercare you receive. Contact the clinic promptly about an unexpected change; seek urgent medical help for severe or rapidly worsening symptoms or any change in vision. Do not alter prescribed medicines without advice from the clinician responsible for them.

NHS advice on choosing a practitioner

Your questions

Let’s make
things clear.

Useful information before your Edinburgh consultation.

How do I know whether I need filler?

You do not need to choose a product or amount before visiting. We first consider what is causing your concern, whether treatment is likely to help and whether another approach would be more suitable.

Will the result look natural?

We discuss proportion and the changes you would feel comfortable with. Results depend on anatomy, product, treatment and healing, so no particular appearance can be guaranteed.

Can filler be dissolved?

Hyaluronic acid filler may sometimes be treated with a prescription enzyme after clinical assessment. Dissolving is a separate procedure with its own risks and limitations; it is not a guarantee that treatment can simply be undone.

Can I combine filler with skin or laser treatments?

Possibly. Volume, texture and pigmentation are different concerns. Your clinician can discuss whether skin treatments or the existing Harmony XL Pro service would complement your plan, including suitable timing.
